The Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home located in Edmeston, NY,
is proud to offer a wide range of services to the families in
the Otsego County and surrounding areas. With a skilled and
caring staff, and a warm and comforting atmosphere, our goal
is to help you plan a personalized service to celebrate the
life of your loved one.
In today's global community the impact on a loved
ones death vibrates around the world. One hundred
years ago the core of
the family remained local. Today ... traveling, attending
colleges, and job opportunities stretch the nucleus of the
family to now include an extended family that may cover all
of America but that could also extend overseas.
To
reach these individuals that had been touched by your
loved one is important. To have them be able to reach you
and to share in your common grief is vital and rewarding.
Our staff is here to serve and provide you with many options
so that you can personalize your loved ones funeral service be
it here in Edmeston, at your local church, or at home. We send
our staff to attend numerous seminars covering the various
aspects of the funeral profession to insure that they may
serve our communities with the best current knowledge and
resources.
Over the past seventeen years we have renovated the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home and grounds to better meet
our communities needs. Interior walls have been removed to
allow a more spacious chapel. Two bathrooms, one being
wheelchair accessible, and a handicap ramp leading to the
center foyer were installed. To the left of the foyer is a
large spacious room where children and young adults may gather
during calling hours, yet, still be near family members.
Outside the parking lot has been expanded, a bench has been
added under the cherry trees, and a water fountain graces the
front door to South Street.
During your arrangement conference you will be encouraged
to speak about your loved ones accomplishments, their driving
force in life, what they meant to you and to others. You will
be given material to review and to select from so that we can
design their funeral service to be about them and the life
that they had here on earth.
