Florence Evelyn James, 87, formerly of Burlington Flats died Tuesday December 13, 2011 at Folts Home in Herkimer.
She was born February 27, 1924 in Cooperstown the daughter of Arnold W. and Florence Ethel (Seifried) James.
Evelyn was an avid reader, and enjoyed painting and knitting. She had held various secretarial positions, wrote policy for Otsego Insurance Company, worked at Newberry’s behind the candy counter, and provided respite care for the elderly.
Her brothers John and Lynn James; her niece Karen Charles and her nephew Richard Harris survive Evelyn. Her sister Doris Harris predeceased her.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston with Pastor Jay Henderson officiating.
Interment will follow at Burlington Flats Cemetery, Burlington Flats.
