Claude J. Wolcott Jr., 74, of Burlington Flats died Monday December 12, 2011 at Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown.
He was born April 5, 1937 in Cooperstown the son of Claude J. and Anna (Curtis) Wolcott. He married Marie Bowen February 18, 1961.
Claude had been employed at Remington Arms from which he retired. Both he and his wife, Marie, loved being together fishing, camping, watching NASCAR and sports on TV. Claude also enjoyed hunting and trapping. There are many aspects of Claude’s life that will continually be shared for generations to come; his laughter, his dancing and his descriptive storytelling talents. One key legacy that he leaves behind is his love for his grandchildren, he was always ready to play ball with them.
His devoted and loving wife, Marie; his children Tina Chapman (Bill), Larry Wolcott and companion Lisa; his grandchildren Michael Chapman (Kim), Nicholas Chapman (Denise), Hope Chapman (T.J.), Anthony Wolcott, Patience Wolcott (Gordon) and Jordan Wolcott; his great grandchildren Caden and Liam Chapman his brother Bruce Wolcott (Norma); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive Claude.
His siblings Christine Bowen, Donald Wolcott, Charlotte Waterman and Wendell Wolcott predeceased Claude.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston with Rev. John Young officiating. Calling hours will be on Wednesday December 14, 2011 from 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Burlington Flats Cemetery.
