Roger Blackman of Binghamton, NY passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 at his home on Chenango St. in downtown Binghamton. Roger Blackman was born June 28, 1921 in Edmeston NY, to Ray and Myrtle Blackman. He was a deacon of long standing at Main St. Baptist Church in Binghamton. Mr. Blackman was employed at Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson’s in Binghamton NY for many years. Many thanks to Betsy and Judy at ABC Housing on Chenango St. for their many years of dedication to Roger’s well being.

He was preceded in death by a sister Rosemary Fitzgerald of Winston-Salem, NC, and brother Carrol Blackman of Smithville Flats, NY. He is survived by a niece, Mary Clodfelter and husband Robert of Winston-Salem, NC, nephew, Bob Fitzgerald of Concord, NC, cousins, Susanna Yatman of Saint Leonard, MD; Lysle, Jeanne and other cousins in Edmeston, NY.

The celebration of the life of Roger Blackman will be held at noon on April 28, at Main St. Baptist Church, 117 Main St, Binghamton NY, 13905
