Rosileen (Rosie) J King, 76, of Brookfield entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 18, 2012 in her home.
She was born on October 31, 1935 in Brookfield, the daughter of Barton & Ada (Cross) Owen. She married Frederick A. King on June 12, 1954, a union that lasted 42 years before he passed away on September 6, 1996.
Rosileen was a faithful wife, dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker her whole life. She was called Mom and Grandma to many in the community. She was educated in the Brookfield schools.
Her children who stood by her through her long, hard fight with Parkinson’s and a special son and daughter-in-law who took care of her in her home until her passing survive Rosileen.
She has nine sons and two daughters: Fred King, Jr., Mark & Denise & Mitzie, John & Terry, Gloria, Warren & Debbie, Rich & Candy, Bart & Karen, Hank & Emily, Matt & Missy, Melanie, Rudy & Becky; 29 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by three brothers and three sisters: Gordon Owen, Nelson & Ruth Owen, Tom & Rachel Owen, Kate & Ken Whitaker, Martha & Dave LaClair, Ellen & Dick Hodges as well as her sisters-in-law: Helen King, Dorothy & Jazz Delmedico, Mildred Edick and Marcella King.
Her husband, Fred, her parents, five brothers, one sister and three brothers-in-law, predeceased her.
Calling hours for Rosileen will be held from 5 to 9PM, Wednesday June 20th at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21st at 1:00PM at the West Brookfield Church with Rev. Richard Catlin officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Rural Cemetery.
