Print Charlotte Kupris

West Edmeston, NY

Charlotte Louise Singer Kupris, 73, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday November 19, 2011 at Harding Nursing home with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 21, 1938 in Mohawk, the daughter of David D. and Lucy A. (Young) Singer. And was raised by her foster parents Roy and Donella Sponburgh.

She married the love of her life, Edward “Eddie” Joseph Kupris on November 17, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West Winfield.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Eddie and Charlotte raised their four sons; Mark, David, Paul and Kevin on the family farm in South Brookfield. Charlotte enjoyed flowers, gardening and especially her Christmas cactus’s. She loved her Petrie dog, “Petey”, birds, puzzles and baking. One of her greatest joys was celebrating the holidays and family picnics with her children and their families.

After the death of her husband, “Eddie my love”, on July 5, 2008, she resided at Harding Nursing Home where once again, her life began to flourish. While there Charlotte was involved in many activities. She loved her bowling, ceramics, Bingo, basket weaving, her “lunch bunch” outings, bus trips and her weekly manicures.

Charlotte was devoted to her church and being able to attend Catholic Mass on Fridays brought her great spiritual comfort. Her missionary work for her later years was looking after the sick and the dying. In many ways she was the “Mother Theresa” of Harding Nursing Home. She was grateful to God for allowing him to use her for this purpose; and was blessed with the many special friendships that she had formed with “her ladies”.

Her children Mark Kupris and companion Beck Way, David and Candi Kupris, Paul and Kim Kupris, and Kevin and Barbara Kupris; her twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her siblings, Evelyn Singer Stillman Whitford, Leona Singer Baily, Theodore Hilts, Janey Ockinicki Slaymaker and Irene Ockinicki Buck; and numerous nieces and nephews survive Charlotte.

Besides her husband, Edward, she was also predeceased by her parents and foster parents; siblings Marion Singer Luthart, Lloyd Singer, Thomas Singer, Viola Pollack, David Singer, Clifford Singer, Robert Singer and Doris Singer Pollick, Isabelle Singer Williams and Dorothy Ockinicki.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 12:00, noon. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in New Berlin with Father Bebel officiating.

Calling hour are from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm on Monday November 21, 2011 at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston.
