Mrs.
June Allison Schulz, 76, known to her
grandchildren as “Nana”, is now at peace and in
heaven with her parents. She passed away on Feb.
21, 2008, with her family and friends by her
side.
June was born in Brooklyn, NY to Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Raynor, on June 18, 1931. June met her
husband of 54 years, William (Bill) Schulz, when
she was on a vacation with friends at a resort
in the Delaware Water Gap. After living with
June’s parents in Westbury NY for 2 years they
made the bold move to purchase a brand-new home
in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. At the time this was
like moving to the end of the world to June and
Bill’s family members!
Life was great in suburbia for June as she
always enjoyed entertaining relatives,
neighbors, friends and more important just about
every child in the neighborhood. All the kids
knew that “Aunt June” would gladly feed any
child and on hot summer days her “Aunt June’s
Ice Tea” was the hit of the neighborhood!
June was a stay at home housewife who lived and
enjoyed raising her children. Once the children
were grown, June became an “Estee Lauder Girl”
of the prestigious Estee Lauder Company,
Melville, NY. This is where she really shined!
June made so many friends while working there.
June and the other “girls” always enjoyed each
others company, by taking trips, seeing Broadway
shows and just spending time together. She was
always so happy to gift the famous Estee Lauder
Grab Bags to her friends and family.
In 1977 June and Bill relocated to Torrance,
California. They lived in a wonderful condo
located on Sesame Street! The condo was more
like a hotel as June continued to be the
quintessential hostess to all of her friends and
family. Not only was she delighted to host her
guests she also became their self-appointed tour
guide. She would take everyone to the beach, the
mountains and Disneyland!
Bill and June retired and moved back to the east
coast to be with their children and
grandchildren. They settled into a lovely home
in Oneonta on Spruce St. and worked diligently
to restore their home. Many fond memories of
Nana’s hospitality, great meals and baby-sitting
services have graced our family.
In the twilight of June’s life she struggled
with Parkinson’s disease and for the past 5
years she called Chase Memorial Nursing Home her
“home”. June received the best of care at Chase
and her warm heart and hospitable ways won the
hearts of many of her care providers. She also
enjoyed sharing stories and laughter with the
many friends she made at Chase.
June’s smile, compassion and sense of humor will
be remembered by all those that had the pleasure
of knowing her.
June was the beloved wife of 54 years to her
husband William Schulz, a devoted mother to her
daughter Diane Schulz, Diane’s children Shane
and Julia Heidecker of Oneonta and her son Paul
and his wife Donna Schulz, their children Lauren
and Brandon Schulz of Edmeston. June was
predeceased by her parents Joseph and Lillian
Raynor and is survived by her sister Gloria and
her husband Frank Wildner of Boynton Beach,
Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to “The Building the Future at Chase”,
PO Box 250, New Berlin, NY 13411.
June’s family will receive friends and family at
the Houk Johnston Terry Funeral Home, South
Street, Edmeston, on Monday February 25, 2008

at 3:30 with Father John Burns officiating.
