Pre-Planning

As with all preplanning events there are many advantages. The first that comes to mind is being able to make specific choices based on personal preferences instead of emotional reaction. This is true when planning our children's education, purchasing a home, planning a wedding, setting up a retirement plan, or designing a funeral. Preplanning can also allow you to set aside funding for the funeral so that the family will not have to deal with monetary considerations

Our firm advises you to encourage family participation whenever possible. This can include writing a draft obituary, selecting what type of funeral service and location, etc...

For these reasons we have an easy form for you to complete which allows our firm to assist you on preplanning a funeral.

In New York State a prefunded funeral must be set up in a interest bearing Trust Account for the individual it has been established for. This Trust is also portable allowing the consumer to change funeral homes at their discretion. Our firm uses a funeral trust program, NYSFDA’s Preplan trust. This plan also allows the consumer to make payments on an installment schedule, and to make payments at any time.

Please complete the pre-planning form to the best of your knowledge. This is not a finalized preplanned funeral, it is only a worksheet that will begin the process. We recommend that a meeting should be scheduled between you and a member of our staff to explore many of the options and to discuss cost.
