When designing a funeral service it is important to take the
time to consider many of the options listed below that would
best suit your needs. For example; a register book with a
blue background featuring clouds may be right for one
person, however the register book featuring an open field
with deer may be more appropriate for the nature lover.
Whenever possible a picture of the item will be below the
description.
Location: Where do you want
the service to be held?
You have several options. A local church or community hall,
the funeral home, the cemetery, or your own home. Should you
wish to use a public/state park or building authorization
may be needed. Listed below are some of the local churches:
Brookfield Baptist Church Seventh Day Baptist Church
Clergy: Who do you wish to conduct the
service?
If you belong to, or are active in a church or fraternity (i.e. VFW,
American Legion, Fire Department) you may wish to ask your minister
or Chaplin. However, some families opt to ask a close
friend to oversee the service.
To be Present or Not:
Do you want the deceased at the service? The decedent does
not have to be present for you to have a service. If you
choose for them to be present they can be either in a
casket or urn. Or you may may also choose to have them in
a casket for the service, then cremated, and later have a
ceremony for the spreading of ashes or the interment of
their urn.
Memorabilia for the service or calling hours:
This is where we want to help you personalize the life of
the deceased. It can be done through picture boards,
family albums, quilts, musical instruments, favorite songs,
etc... This is an area of expertise for our firm and we
will gladly assist you in any way to insure your
satisfaction.
Local Cemeteries:
We serve numerous cemeteries throughout this area.
However, we are also available to transport the deceased
outside this region. Listed below are the cemeteries that
we frequently serve. We also contact these cemeteries for
the family and arrange for the grave to be opened. We have
listed the phone numbers when possible in case you are
interested in family genealogy.

Obituaries:
An obituary is the written documentation about the
deceased and informs the public about calling hours and
the service. This can be very difficult for a family to
compose. However, we do encourage the families we serve to
bring us what they have written and we will fine tune it
for them. We also like to include in the obituary personal
tidbits to further personalize the deceased. During the
arrangement conference our staff again will inquire about
the likes, traits, and hobbies that may be used in the
obituary.
Calling hours:
Similar to the location of the service you need to decide
where you would want it be be held. It could be at the
funeral home, church, your home, or community center. Some
families opt to have calling hours the day or night before
the service, others prefer to have them and hour or two
prior to the service. Please consider what is best for
your family, because that is who we wish to please.
Livery:
You may choose from our traditional Hearse, our Daimler Hearse
imported from England, a horse drawn wagon, or
company van to transport your loved one to either the
church or cemetery. We recommend the Van on long trips,
and use it also as a flower car when transporting all of
the arrangements and equipment from the funeral home to
the church or cemetery.
